We Believe in Quality Instructors

At Country Swim School we take pride in the training and years of experience our instructors have.  Because we believe in the importance of ongoing lessons and continuity in teaching, we hire teachers who plan on being with us for years.

Meet The Instructors

Sue Lowe

Sue LoweCo-Owner/Instructor
Sue has been teaching swimming for over 35 years.  She started her aquatic career in Ohio and after moving back to Lincoln, taught at the YMCA and a private pool for a few years.  Sue was the Aquatic Director for the YMCA for six years before starting the Country Swim School in September 1989.  Sue enjoys teaching all ages and levels, but especially loves teaching Water Babies.
Robin Lowe

Robin LoweCo-Owner/Instructor

Robin has been teaching lessons for 30 years.  Her aquatic career started in Barberton, Ohio with swim lessons and then joining the swim team.  After moving to Lincoln she continued participating in swim team until her senior year of high school.  Robin took lifeguard training and worked as a lifeguard, instructor and coach throughout her high school and college years.

Robin completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Teaching at the University of Virginia.  After graduating, Robin nannied for a year in northern Virginia and then moved back home where she joined her mother Sue at Country Swim School.  When Robin first moved back she substitute taught at several public schools, taught swim lessons and coached our USA Swimming Team.  As the Swim School’s needs grew Robin became a partner in the business and began teaching lessons and coaching full time.

If you have questions about our gardens, Robin is the person to ask.

Tina Petracek

Tina PetracekInstructor
Tina has been teaching swimming lessons full time for the Country Swim School since 2000.  She first came to Country Swim School to participate in a Water Exercise Class.  After noticing Tina’s interest in the children’s swimming lessons, Sue asked if she would like to become involved.  Tina was a volunteer aide for a few months and then worked as an aide co-teaching with an experienced instructor for 1-2 years.  After completing her lifeguard training, Tina became a full time instructor at Country Swim School.

Along with instructing swim lessons, Tina has many other duties at Country Swim School, teaching the Water Exercise class being one of her favorites.  Tina has a life-long love of the water and if it’s possible, she may enjoy the beach and ocean even more than Sue and Robin do.

Catherine has been a part-time instructor at Country Swim School since 2010.  She worked as an aide and co-taught with a full time instructor for 2 years before teaching her own classes.  Catherine grew up in our program, beginning lessons when she was 3 years old and continuing until she was 13 years old and in our  Swimmer II level.  This gave her the advantage of knowing how to do all the skills in our levels when she began aiding with classes.  Catherine is a pleasure to have on our staff and enjoys working with children.  (Some of you may remember Catherine’s older sister Elizabeth who taught for us for about 7 years.)

LauraAssistant Instructor
Laura began swimming with Country Swim School when she was 6 years old and progressed through all our levels.  In the spring of 2012, when she was 15 and swimming in the Swimmer II class, Laura was asked to join our team and begin training to be an aide.  Growing up in our program, gives Laura the benefit of being familiar with and proficient at all of the skills in our levels.  We hope to have her with us for many years to come.
